The Purge: THROW IT ALL AWAY.

Kidding. Sorta. You only wear about 20% of your wardrobe (or some other tiny percentage—I promised myself I’d never do math after college). Like Marie Kondo says, keep the pieces that #sparkjoy and ditch the rest.

So… what about those jeans that only fit when you stop breathing? That outdated suit that’s “retro” but not the good retro? That expensive AF dress you’ve been planning to sell since the Obama administration? Or the third winter coat you keep just in case it drops below 60? (Okay, that one’s tricky. Angelenos are delicate creatures in anything under 70. Myself included. But still—you don’t need three.)

And yes, I hear you screaming, “BUT WHAT IF IT COMES BACK IN STYLE?!” Maybe it will. But holding on “just in case” is living in fear. And fuck fear—you’re better than that.

The Panic: What If I Regret It?!

I also hear you saying (or yelling… I respect both), “BUT WHAT IF I REGRET GETTING RID OF IT?!” Sure, you could regret it. But I’m betting that the second it’s out of your house, you’ll forget you ever owned that tragic piece of clothing.

And before you scream, “I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR. LITERALLY.”—no, my goal is not to force you into a nudist colony. Unless that’s your thing. In which case… yeah, let’s burn it all.

My real goal? A streamlined, breathable, anxiety-free closet that doesn’t attack you every morning. And if you need more spark-joy pieces afterward, we’ll SHOP. Purge parties and personal shopping are my besties.

The Power-Up: Your Capsule Wardrobe

The key to a truly effortless wardrobe is creating a capsule wardrobe—a curated collection of timeless pieces that you wear every day. Forget about a closet full of stuff you barely touch. Instead, focus on versatile, high-quality items that you love and that work together seamlessly. Start with classic staples like well-fitting jeans, a tailored blazer, and a perfect white tee. Stick to a neutral color palette with a few accent shades, so everything easily mixes and matches. This way, you’ll have endless outfit combinations with far fewer pieces. And remember, it’s all about quality over quantity—invest in items that will last and that you’ll actually wear, not just things that hang around gathering dust. A capsule wardrobe makes getting dressed easier, less stressful, and way more stylish, leaving you with a closet full of pieces that fit your life and your vibe.
